Breast Cancer Awareness

Last Tuesday all TY girls had a breast cancer awareness talk. The talk was very informative and interesting. Our visiting speaker from Breast Cancer Ireland made us aware of symptoms, signs and treatment of the disease. She also talked to us about spreading the awareness wherever we can.

We would also like to thank Ger Collins, a parent of students at DCC, who bravely shared her cancer story with us. She was very positive throughout her diagnosis and treatment which is admirable. She was keen to stress that early detection is key with Breast Cancer. We urge mothers, sisters and all female relations to talk to their daughter about what they heard today to spread more awareness.

Thank you very much to the speakers today for visiting and thank you to Ms Sheehan for organising the talk.
