On Tuesday 21st of August, Molly Laforgue was playing in the LGFA Under 17’s TG4 Championship, with the Dublin U17’s development squad. The tournament took place in Abbotstown, where a great display of skill was witnessed.

Molly Laforgue is a 6th year student who plays gaelic football for the ladies team, the minors, and also her own team, the U17’s. Molly played as a right-half forward at the blitz and was an integral part of the team and made great contributions to their success. Limerick took home the Plate title, Wicklow went home with the Shield final win, and Dublin were crowned the Cup champions after a tough game against Donegal. This was the largest ever LGFA U17 blitz with 15 counties in attendance and 18 teams playing. Some members of St Pats went to Abbotstown to support Molly and her great achievement playing for Dublin.

Molly plays for St Pats, the local club in Donabate. She has been playing for 9 years and has been playing as a half-forward for the last 6 years. Molly went for Dublin trials last year and developed as a player, but unfortunately didn’t make the final cut. This year she made the U17s development squad and we are very happy that she had the opportunity to play in the matches representing Dublin.

We are very proud as a school and community to have an All Ireland winner in 6th year and wish her the best of luck in her Leaving Certificate and future endeavours.
