DCC u18’s GAA team lost in the final moments of their senior quarter final in a game played against Leixlip. It was a thrilling encounter between two evenly matched and competitive sides.

DCC got off to a brilliant start with Ryan Hensey and Daniel Moore getting on the score sheet early on. A sublime Sam Carroll penalty gave DCC a certain lead at the break as they lead by 5.

After the break, Leixlip fired themselves back into contention after scoring a number points following the restart. Colm Kavanagh converted a free and DCC followed this up with another score to level the game. Ollie Brooks then put DCC one up with a brilliant score. Not to be outdone, Leixlip levelled matters once more from a free and another score late on gave them the win with the final kick of the game.

Commiserations to the team and Mr. Claffey who have had a very good run this year. To the 6th Year students that have played their final game in a DCC shirt – we thank them sincerely for their commitment and dedication to school teams for the last number of years and look forward to seeing them continuing playing their sport with their clubs.
