Donabate Community College’s Senior Ladies Gaelic Football team continued their Leinster School’s Championship campaign against Gaelscoil Aiste Reachran at Ballamastone, following their drawn match against St. Joseph’s of Rush last week. It was a lovely day for football as there wasn’t any wind and the sun was beating down on the players.
Donabate started slowly with the opposition taking a strong lead at the beginning of the first half. However, points from Molly Laforgue and Alex Ryan just before half time got Donabate back into the game but Gaelscoil Aiste Reachran still kept hold of their comfortable lead.
The second half brought better fortune for Donabate with Molly Laforgue, Alex Ryan and Amy Collins all scoring. But it was too little too late for Donabate as the opposition came out victorious in the end. Thanks To Mr. Weafer and hard luck to all the senior ladies footballers. Hopefully they will have better luck in their next game.
