First Year Excitement at Newbridge Park

On Friday the 12th of September the First year students, led by their tutors, year head and five TY students, walked down to Newbridge Park for their official year group photo. A photo of each year group taken in front of the historic house has become a tradition in Donabate Community College over the past seven years.

Excitement filled the classrooms as the students prepared to head down to the park. The pupils represented our school with pride walking through the village as many people stopped to admire their good stewardship.

As we got to the park we got down to business! Pictures were taken of each class group; Marshall, Henderson, Dunant, Wilson, Gorbachev and Schweitzer. Then the time arrived for the year group photo. Due to the First Years’ amazing manners the picture was taken calmly and quickly with smiles all round!

After the photos were taken and perfected, drinks and snacks were handed out. The students then had time to chat and enjoy a few games of football in the park. This was an opportunity for the TY students to take some photos of the First Years interacting and socialising together on their first outing. After a while the tired students and teachers made their way back after a fun filled afternoon. It was a day for us to remember in years to come and a photograph that will be shown again when they graduate in sixth year!
