Junk Kouture is a national fashion competition for secondary students. Submitted fashion pieces must show innovative design as well as use 100% recycled materials. This year, Olivia Keaney, Lauren Redmond and Lea Flanagan’s ‘Junky Jewels’ recycled fashion piece is through to the National Finals in the Grand Canal Dock Theatre. ‘Junky Jewels’ is made from thousands of beads, earrings and other discarded jewelry all painstakingly collected and sorted by our TY students. After hours of collecting and constructing, the girls finished costume was selected from the regional finalists and will be modeled by Lauren at this prestigious theatre on Friday the 19th of April. Online votes contribute to the final score so please log on to junkkouture.com and vote for ‘Junky Jewels’.
