Latest News

On the 19th of October, the DCC Senior Ladies Gaelic Football team were in action in a hard battle against St Mary’s Glasnevin. The girls played a great game and continued to showcase their much-improved play and continued development as players.

St Mary’s showed big efforts in defence and unfortunately, DCC’s scoring efforts were unsuccessful and St Mary’s held the lead throughout. In the first half of the game there were great interceptions from Katelyn Knight, April O’Brien and Amy Collins to go along with a well-controlled game from the rest of the team.

A few minutes after the whistle blew for the second half to begin, the ball was passed into Molly Laforgue who ran the pitch from the halfway line and drove it through a well-structured defence scoring a great point.

The girls fought hard on both ends of the pitch after a slow start. They finally got going with some excellent ball movement, keeping their heads up and making the right passes helped opportunities for scoring some points again from Molly Laforgue.

Although DCC started good offensive play, St Mary’s kept scoring throughout but all players kept up the hard work and fought a hard battle which lead unfortunately to St Mary’s Glasnevin getting a comprehensive win. Well done to all the players and to the players of the match Laoise Wood and Katelyn Knight. We look forward to your future matches!
