Latest News

The Student Council have been working hard the last number of months, raising the concerns of students from all year groups. Fourteen students ranging from different year groups were elected last September and have met every Tuesday, along with Ms. Orohoe and Ms. Clery, the group have been working together on various issues, requests and events.

The Student Council have resolved a number of issues from fellow students, such as changing lunchtime arrangements, requests on academic issues, forming a yearbook committee and many more. The Student Council has been consulted by Management at various stages this year on issues that affect students and changes they would like to see moving forward.

A Student Council notice board outside the board room in the assembly hall will contain more accessible information to further topics. We aim to promote the awareness of the Student Council in 2017 and for anyone seeking information about the council, take a look at this notice board or ask any student or teacher representatives.

A large school event has been arranged by the Student Council and will take place in early March to coincide with the sterling work of the Wellbeing Committee. When information is confirmed, students and community members will receive further details about this event. The Student Council have worked very hard to organise this event and are looking forward to a globally successful day.

Students have the responsibility to know which students represent their year group and are strongly advised to speak with them about any queries, concerns or any general suggestions they may have. A list of student representatives is available on the notice board mentioned above and were also posted at the beginning of the year on the school website. The Student Council is a great tool in projecting not just representative’s voices, but all students from any year groups.

On behalf of the Student Council, we would like to thank Mr. Creevey and Mrs. Flynn for their continued support of the Council.
