Student Enterprise

The picture to the right shows the 2012 winners of the Fingal Student Enterprise Awards from Donabate Community College

Student Enterprise is offered as an option to Transition Year Students and is also run as an after school extra-curricular activity to all year groups each Monday after school in the Business Room.

This year saw fifteen student enterprise companies from Donabate Community College enter the student enterprise awards, with all companies having the opportunity to set up their stall to sell their products at our Winter Fair in December.

Following judging we are proud to announce our six entries to the Fingal Country Enterprise Board Awards that will be held on 12th March 2013.

 Student Enterprise Awards

The Student Enterprise Awards is the biggest enterprise competition for students in Ireland. It helps students to grasp real life skills associated with running a real enterprise including working as part of a team, managing production and finances, organizing a sales and marketing campaign and liaising directly with customers, judges and the media.

The competition compliments the business studies curriculum and is a rewarding experience for transition year students in particular, who have that bit more freedom to develop their business concepts to the fullest.

Introducing enterprise to students in such a relevant fashion can only help to create more entrepreneurs in the future!
