Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
Today marked the Inaugural Swap Shop event in aid of St. Francis Hospice, which created such a lovely buzz especially among the senior students who on making their purchases displayed their sartorial elegance. Our Head Strong Committee held their fundraising cake sale at lunchtime at which a very strong trade was in evidence. Football and blitzes, study skills and games, it has been an action packed but fantastic day.
Students tomorrow, Friday 24th may wear an appropriate seasonal costume in place of their school uniform, this is a choice not obligatory. School uniform or a costume are the only permitted outfits.
We are looking forward to welcoming parents and guardians of our first year students to our annual breakfast morning. This year our first years are dressing in the outfit of their dream job. Doors open to parents at 9.15am.
In advance we would like to thank the members of our Parents’ Council for providing the hospitality to our guardians, the Prefects for assisting Ms. Clery, our Transition Year students for their assistance to the Parents’ Council, to the students and ancillary staff who prepared the hall this afternoon, Sharon for her work behind the scenes, the guidance department for supporting Our Dream Job and finally to Ms. Clery and the first year Tutor Team for organising the event.
As always we thank you, our parents and guardians for supporting us in the work we do, it is sincerely appreciated.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy mid term break,
Donabate Community College
