Ard Scoil Rís – 17

DCC battled hard to get themselves to a semifinal after a dogged quarter final win against Ard Scoil Rís. Ard Scoil Rís travelled from Marino to play the in-form 1st year boys basketball team. After coming off a comfortable win against St. Declans in their last game, the lads were more than ready to go.

Donabate started strong in the first quarter with scores from Jack Kirwin and Joey Kelly. Ard Scoil Rís had no answer for the firing Donabate lads until the third quarter where they found their feet and started to battle back, at the end of the third quarter the scoreboard was narrowed down to only 5 points with an impressive quarter by the boys from Marino.

Heading into the 4th and final quarter Donabate had a tight lead but showed their skill and composure to pull away from Ard Scoil Rís. DCC ended up winning the final quarter 12 points to nothing making the final score 32-17 Donabate.

It was a brilliant performance by the lads, and everyone at the school is getting behind them for their semifinal coming up soon.

DCC: Elliot Connolly, Hugh Martin, Jack Kirwin, Jayden Doran, Joey Kelly, Liam Hanley, Matthew Henshall, Patrick Reid, Samuel Burke, Sean McCormack, and Alex Mitchell
