On Tuesday twelve Donabate students took part in the womens 4 x 200m Dublin City Council in the hallowed grounds of the national indoor arena in Blanchardstown where both records and hearts have been broken.
First up were the 2nd year team of Alice Maher, Caragh Smith, Lucy Harris and Zoe Laird who acquitted themselves very well in both their heat and the final.

DCC have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to first year female athletes, courtesy of our local club LSA and the quality was on show as both teams made the final.
In the end the team made up of Lile Murphy, Faye McConnell, Kate Redmond and Lara Nolan pipped Eryn Gray, Marta Bodo, Abbie Kearns and Kim Kuznik to the silver medal and won the bragging rights in this early season opener.

For now, it’s roll on the track and field season and we await great things from these girls in the upcoming north Leinster qualifiers in Santry. Well done, girls!
