On Tuesday 25th February, the DCC Ethos ambassador team were invited to attend a meeting at the DDLETB Baldoyle Training Centre. The Ethos Ambassador programme aims to empower students to take an active role in fostering a positive school culture and to serve as positive role models for their school and classmates.
As they arrived at the training centre, they were greeted with other schools and ambassadors from the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire training board area. Throughout the training, they spoke about the future changes and ideas that could improve schools in the following areas, Excellence in Education, Care, Equality, Community and Respect. Many great ideas were introduced. Throughout the meeting, the training board organised a lunch break. Nice pastries and sandwiches were given out which improved the morale.
Coming towards the end, a special guest came in to speak. The DDLETB Director of Schools, Mark McDonald, spoke to us about his role. He handed out badges and officially gave the titles of ‘Ethos Ambassadors’ to our team. He also gave us a special thanks as he personally knows our former principal as they were in a band together. This brought our meeting to an end, all goodbyes were said and our ambassador team departed.
Special thanks to Ms Chaloner and Mr Murphy for organising and taking the ambassador team; Nikolai Polnis-Borzyk, Cara McGuire, Poppy Franklin and Aidan Barry.
