Before mid term, the Junior boys GAA team took on Salesian’s College, Celbridge in the Division 1b Semi-final. They dominated the game, cruising into the final!

Both teams started the game with high intensity and it was clear that both wanted to come out on top. DCC kicked off the game with Conor Heffernan scoring a point in the opening minute. Salesians had a few opportunities to end the first half with a lead but we’re no match for goalkeeper Joey Kelly.

Numerous points were scored by Sean McCormack, Aidan Walsh and Tom McMahon to keep DCC ahead. In the 30th minute Tom McMahon scored a brilliant goal bottom corner to leave the score 1-4 to 0-4 at the break.

The second half got off to a swift start with a early goal from Sean McCormack. Soon after Salesians scored a goal, however that’s as good as it got for them. A great goal kick by Joey Kelly made its way to Aidan Walsh who made a great pass to Tom McMahon who was able to put it in the back of the net.

DCC continued to influence the game with plenty of points from Conor Heffernan, Mathew O’Connor and Conor Tighe. Ben O’Donoghue added an excellent goal.

In the final few minutes of the game, Aidan Walsh made a great pass down the pitch which found its way to Sam Bukovec who fired the ball into the back of the net. The final whistle blew and DCC won 5-9 to 1-6.

We wish the team all the very best in the final on March 10th and thank you to Mr Roche and Mr Tully for taking care of the team.
