Donabate Community College – 5
St. MacDara’s CC, Tempelogue – 1

Last Wednesday, the minor girls football team had a cup victory in Templeogue against St. Mac Dara’s Community College.

Lucy Dunne swiftly scored the first goal for Donabate with help of the players in midfield, against a tough defence from MacDaras. MacDaras soon followed scoring the second goal of the match, drawing the game. Following from the first goals from either side was another goal from Donabate and the visitors led by 2-1 at half time.

The team started the second half fighting a tough defence from MacDaras. Donabate then got their 3rd goal of the game courtesy of Georgia Hall. Mc Daras had many attempts to even the game but were defeated by DCC’s brilliant defence and amazing saves by goalkeeper Abigail Fogarty. Carlie Sinnott then found the net twice in second half, guaranteeing her teams victory. When the whistle blew for full time, the team had achieved a 5 – 1 win!

We are incredibly proud of our minor girls team and their hard work to bring their team to victory time and time again. The team is now through to the next round of the cup where they will play St. Leo’s from Carlow this Thursday. We wish the team and their coaches, Ms Collins and Ms Fennell the best of luck.
