Our Parents’ Council held their AGM, Thursday 23rd October.
The Acting Chairperson Ita White gave an overview of the work of the PC in the last year and their continuing commitment to supporting the school in the year to come. The list of activities was wide ranging and included policy consultation, parental feedback, communication and the pre owned uniform sale.
Suzanne Hall presented the Treasurer’s Report detailing the income, outgoings and current balance.
The Keynote speaker was Dr. Ingrid Harley, speaking on Ethos and the development of the Ethos Awards in Donabate Community College. Parents took part in a Kahoot exercise to focus on the views of teenagers in the North Dublin Area and then the rationale of awarding students in areas such as Care, Respect, Equality, Community and Excellence in Education.
Thanks were extended to Tríona Lally for her work as Chair of the Parents’ Council and to Ita White for term as interim Chairperson.
The invitation was extended to parents who wish to join the Parents’ Council to contact existing members.
