The first team game of the 24/25 school year begins this Tuesday, the 17th of September, when Donabate CC takes on Dundalk DLS in Gaelic Football. Our TY journalists, Conor Keon and Donagh Crean interviewed Kevin Burke, a 6th year student who will be playing in this game.
Kevin plays left wing forward, and it is his preferred position. When asked how he felt about the upcoming fixture, he said he wasn’t sure how he felt, as they haven’t met in previous years. Kevin also said they will go into the game not knowing what to expect, so they will keep an open mind.
Kevin has been involved in many different sporting teams throughout his years at DCC. When asked him his best sports experience in his years at DCC, he described the school football (soccer) final in Oriel Park where they fought hard for a 1-0 victory.
Finally, Kevin was asked for his score prediction for tomorrow’s game, where he admitted it was tough to be sure, but believes DCC will come out on top, scoring 3-10 to 2-6.
Best of luck to our senior footballers tomorrow, and to Mr. O’Meara our Gaelic football coordinator and coach.
