Donabate CC – 60
Cabinteely CC – 17
Donabate Community College’s Junior Rugby Team travelled to Cabinteely Community College last Tuesday for an action-packed game in perfect sunny conditions. DCC came away with a commanding 60-17 victory, thanks to an outstanding team performance.
Nathan Powell led the scoring with four tries, followed by Dyan Farthing with two. Conor Dunne, Jake Watters, Jordan Omokhudu, and Kevin O’Leary also got on the scoresheet with a try each.
The game kicked off with a brilliant run from William Bell, setting up an early try finished by Jordan Omokhudu. Cabinteely responded quickly with a converted try of their own, taking an early 7-5 lead.
However, DCC managed to run in six more tries before halftime, with conversions from Sam Dubos and William Bell pushing the half time score to 41-7 in DCC’s favour.
The second half opened with another DCC try, again converted by William Bell. Cabinteely replied with a try of their own to bring the score to 48-12. In the closing minutes, DCC added two more tries—converting one—while Cabinteely crossed the line once more to round off the game.
A huge well done to all the players from both sides. Special thanks to Cabinteely Community College for hosting and for the use of their excellent facilities!
Thanks to Mr Walmsley for looking after the team!
