DCC students, we were disappointed to hear that there were many young people congregating in groups over the weekend.

We know it is difficult for you to not be able to hang out with your school friends at the moment, but this virus is especially dangerous as there is no cure or vaccine and the health system will not be able to cope with a huge group of people all requiring hospital treatment at the same time.

As a result, Irish citizens have been asked to practice social distancing. Social distancing is important to help slow the spread of coronavirus. It does this by minimising contact between potentially infected individuals and healthy individuals.

Students are reminded this is not a holiday and teachers are putting work on Google Classroom or Edmodo to be completed. Students are encouraged to stay in touch with each other using social media instead of meeting face to face.

We ask students to be a good citizen and follow the directions of the HSE to ensure the safety of all.
