It was a positive week on the playing fields, with three excellent wins recorded across football and camogie.

On Monday, 9th February, our first-year girls footballers secured a superb home victory over Our Lady’s Secondary School Greenhills. In a fixture that has historically proven challenging, this result marked a significant step forward for the group.

Goals from Muireann Martin and Hannah O’Donoghue sealed a well-deserved win. Muireann’s surname may sound familiar to keen followers of local sport — her brother Hugh is widely tipped to make an impact with Bohemian FC in this year’s League of Ireland campaign. Talent clearly runs in the family.

Wednesday brought further success, as our U15 boys recorded an impressive 4–2 victory. Jake Hand set the tone with a superb long-range effort, while further goals from Desto, Noah and Val ensured the result was secured with confidence. It was a strong attacking display and a reward for the team’s continued hard work.

On Thursday, the minor girls camogie team opened their league campaign with a convincing win over Newbridge College. Excellent scoring contributions came from Ali Ryan, Alannah Fletcher, Zoe O’Connor, Saoirse O’Rourke, Mischa Brady and Lara Nolan, while captain Cara O’Reilly delivered an outstanding defensive performance, producing several superb saves. With 24 players fielded in only the team’s second year in existence, the depth and development within the squad is a significant achievement. Two further league fixtures remain, and the group will look to build on this strong start.

Next week, students and staff take a well earned break as the final mid-term of the year sets in. However, when we return on the 23rd, we are all action with six fixtures already confirmed. See below for details, and our social media channels for match posters.
