Our TY’s are currently participating in a first aid course which covers valuable life saving skills. The final class will get their opportunity tomorrow.
Students learn how to react in life threatening situations and about different conditions that people face every day. The course lasts one school day and students take part in both theory and practical methods.
Members from First Aid Ireland teach students about asthma, epilepsy, cardiac arrest, heart attacks, strokes and students learned how to deal with these situations.
Students also learn how to perform compressions, how to use the AED machine and how to safely respond to these situation on dummies.
Students are also taught about day to day injuries such as cuts, burns, bleeds, head bumps and how to treat them and how to use a bandage.
Thank you to First Aid Ireland and well done to all who participated!
