There were nine games that took place across last week, with everything from debating, soccer, athletics and a senior gaelic football final all included.

Monday started with our hockey team winning 0-5 away to Our Lady’s Grove.

A soccer double header took place on Tuesday as Mr Hopkins led his TY Cup team to a 2-6 win up in Dundalk against De La Salle College. Goals from Ben x2, Samuel x2, Cian and Daniel sealed a memorable win for our TYs. Our minor league girls team were also victorious, in a 4-2 win at home to Lusk CC.

Another double header on Wednesday, this time a debut for our first year soccer team, and the Junior Cross Country Invitationals in DCU for our athletics club. Over 40 students took part in the races, with impressive runs from David S, Caragh S, and Leon C.
In football, the first years got their DCC careers off to a winning start thanks to goals from Josh x2, James, and Liam, giving the lads and Mr Murphy a 1-4 win up in Navan against Coláiste na Mí. They doubled this up on Friday with a 3-2 win at home to Portmarnock/Malahide ET.

Thursday arrived with an with an unlucky defeat for our 1st Year Girls footballers who were beaten 1-4 at home by Castleknock CC, the girls could have been ahead if not for hitting the post on several occasions.
Hard luck also must be given to our Junior Debating team, who came up short in Firhouse CC.

All roads led to Friday last week, with an historic Gaelic Football final for our senior men. They were competing in the Dublin B Championship final, a very first for the school. With first county title up for grabs, and a place in the All Ireland series, our seniors took full advantage after extra time, as 3-4 from Liam Murray would prove the difference as we won a first championship for the school, and have earned a leinster semi-final at home to Gorey CC.
