DCC’s Senior Girls Hockey team qualified for the league semi-finals with a fine win against Dundalk Grammar School on Thursday morning. They can now look forward to a semi-final clash with Drogheda Grammar School on Monday!

Their quarter final clash commenced with DCC controlling possession, however it was a nervy start for both sides, with the game hanging in the balance. That was the case until Holly Kavanagh fired the first goal of the game.

DCC wanted to hold on to their lead, but a superbly worked goal from Niamh Neville cemented DCC’s hold on the game. DCC were cautious and despite a superb defence, Dundalk scored a goal just before half time.

A team talk from Ms Orohoe and Mr Graham at half time was just the tonic as Robben Barnes added DCC’s third goal. DCC maintained their hold on the game and our player of the match, Niamh Neville, moved from one end of the pitch to the other to find the net and ensure a place for the team in the semi-finals! We wish them the very best of luck on Monday!
