Junior LGFA – Hard-Fought Victory

Our Junior LGFA team secured an excellent hard-fought victory over Gaelcholáiste Reachrann in Pats on Tuesday.

It was a challenging contest, with DCC finding themselves behind for large periods of the game. However, the team showed fantastic resilience and refused to let the difficult circumstances affect their performance. They continued to work hard, battled for every possession and gradually fought their way back into the game.

Their persistence eventually paid off as they turned the game around and finished strongly, securing a five-point victory.

Well done to all the players for their excellent effort and commitment throughout the game.

Junior Camogie – Winning Start

Our Junior Camogie team got their season off to a fantastic start on Thursday with a convincing victory over Ardgillan.

From the outset, the team showed great energy and intent, putting together an impressive performance to establish control of the game. The players worked extremely well together and demonstrated some excellent skills throughout, resulting in a strong opening-day performance.

It is a very positive start to the season for the team, and we look forward to seeing how they progress over the coming weeks.

Athletics – Cross-Country Relays

Well done to all of our students who represented DCC in the now annual combined DCC/SCC Newbridge Cross-Country Relays on Thursday.

Our students performed extremely well across the various races, with the school recording a number of strong results, including two notable fourth-place finishes. The standard of competition was high, and our athletes can be very proud of their performances.

A particular well done goes to all of our first-year boys and girls who represented the school in a cross-country event for the first time. They embraced the challenge brilliantly and showed great courage and determination throughout their races.

Conditions were particularly difficult on the day, with wet and challenging ground making the races even more demanding. Despite this, all of our students performed bravely and gave their very best for the school.

Well done to all of our students who represented DCC this week. We look forward to another busy and successful week of sport!
